Project Overview
We seek a skilled video producer and/or editor needed to meet our short-term production schedule for the next six weeks as we prepare to launch a parenting streaming service and finish up a documentary about an education movement called Social Emotional Learning
EQuip Our Kids! is a nonprofit pro bono advertising and marketing education campaign whose sole and huge vision is to galvanize the American public to include in every school's daily curriculum education for students and staff in emotional management and in relationship and co-creativity social skills – to the demonstrated and evidence-based profound benefit of children, teens, adults, the schools themselves, and society and business (the economy) as a whole. In education circles, this is best known as Social and Emotional Learning.
We have made our mark in the SEL education movement by inspiring parent support for SEL over the last few years and by helping build grassroots membership organizations of educators and program providers supporting SEL. It is increasingly clear that parts of the country sorely need this education curriculum, and parents need to be mobilized behind it. Moreover, as SEL has expanded in schools in other parts of the country, more school principals are asking for the obvious - a way to get parents trained in these practices at home and with their children so that what their children learn in school is not undermined but reinforced by how they are treated at home. Our streaming service or learning videos for parents and for children will meaningfully help parents and their kids.
If you have skills in video production and/or editing, please feel free to learn more about our work at https://equipourkids.org/.
We are experienced professionals and have identified products to use for the streaming service and much material for the separate documentary about SEL. We have a superb longtime Taproot video artist but need more help in this crunch time. You will be supported and honored.
