Project Overview
I need an accountant to please help me file my 990-N tax return for my not-for-profit theater company OHM Productions Foundation.
I had $0 revenue, so it should be very easy and straightforward.
I am an artist who runs the nonprofit theater company OHM Productions as well as the charity, The Nursing Home Card Project (www.caringbycard.com) and I'm writing a book, all while running my own yoga business (rachelbennettyoga.com). I need help with filing my tax return for my theater company. I have been avidly writing a book that I will turn into a solo show that my theater company will produce and I don’t know how to do tax returns.
It is all ready to go. I spent no money and earned no money this year with the theater company. So it is just a matter of someone guiding me thorugh the online tax return process helping me know what to fill in.
Nonprofit Overview
OHM Productions is a female-driven nonprofit theater company devoted to telling stories rooted in diverse voices.
We value empathy, curiosity, and kindness as the bedrock of our mission. We understand the healing power that comes from full attention and presence.
Our projects stem from the belief that every voice matters. We are committed to listening and believe that theater, at its best, is a connector, helping people to more deeply understand their fellow human beings.
We particularly celebrate stories that rise out of oppression. We celebrate diverse voices, including and especially women's voices. We sometimes choose difficult or uncomfortable themes as a means to go through the pain to find healing on the other side.
OHM Productions is a unique theater company in that we ask this question:
How can mindfulness practices, i.e. breathing, meditation, shaking, and visualizations, be incorporated during rehearsals and discussion around the text in a way that is not purely intellectual but also visceral?
Intrigued by the intersection of theater and mindfulness, we ask:
Can a cast go more deeply into their characters and gain greater trust in each other by incorporating healing and somatic work in the rehearsal process? Using tools such as Improv, the character interview, and mindfulness, we continually peel the onion, going deeper and deeper. It's incredibly exciting.
