Microloan Program Design

We are looking for a skilled volunteer to help us design and implement a microloan origination and servicing framework for our flagship Loanership™ program at PYT (Pay Your Tuition). This project will help us deliver AI-powered, last-mile education funding to students from underserved communities.

Specifically, the volunteer will assist with:

Mapping and structuring loan origination workflows, from student intake to disbursement

Developing basic servicing and repayment protocols that are compliant, student-friendly, and automation-ready

Collaborating on API and CRM integration planning (Salesforce NPSP, Microsoft Power Platform, website forms)

Supporting the documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the process is scalable

The ideal outcome is a clearly documented, user-friendly, and tech-ready structure that can support our students as we scale nationally. You'll work closely with our project lead and a tech-enabled team of fellows and interns for around 2–5 hours/week.

This project is mission-critical to PYT’s goal of transforming education funding for underserved students.

Our Loanership™ model replaces traditional student loans with credit-building, income-informed microloans—giving students access to the funding they need without the burden of long-term debt. By helping us build the operational backbone for Loanerships™, you'll be creating the systems that enable us to:

Disburse funding faster to students who risk dropping out

Automate 50% of our manual processes, freeing our team to serve more students

Deliver real-time, personalized experiences to both students and donors

Scale our impact across 10+ priority states and support thousands more learners

Your expertise will directly support economic mobility, equity in higher education, and long-term financial health for the students we serve.
