Videography Assistance For Narrated Read-Aloud Videos
Life of Kai is a grassroots nonprofit fostering empathy in children through kind, humane storytelling. We’re preparing 1–2 polished narrated read-aloud videos to set a production benchmark for our youth interns and future contributors.
We’re seeking support in these areas:
Voice narration / Voice-actoring for children’s storybooks (ages 7–11)
Video editing to sync narration with images or slide decks
Captions/subtitles for accessibility and compliance
(Optional but helpful) Visual style guide or template design using Canva or PowerPoint
Deliverables:
1–2 captioned videos, each 5–10 minutes
Final videos in .mp4 key formats and editable decks
Sample assets to guide our internal team
Timeline & Time Commitment:
Fully remote
5–10 hours total, flexible timing between June–August 2025
Why your help matters:
These flag-setting videos will help us train our intern, demonstrate quality to publishers, and expand kindness-based storytelling to underserved communities.
This project supports Life of Kai’s mission to build empathy and compassion through humane education—a mission we already bring to life through in-person programs that reach hundreds of children each year. Our humane education work has been recognized and supported by RedRover, whose curriculum we incorporate into classroom visits and virtual reading sessions.
With this project, we’re expanding our impact through the launch of our Children’s Empathy Library—a digital collection of narrated story videos that will allow us to reach even more children, including those who are visually impaired, neurodiverse, or learning English.
By helping us create 1–2 professionally narrated, captioned videos, you’ll be providing the style and quality benchmark for our youth intern (funded by The Pollination Project) and for future video storytelling projects. These resources will be used in classrooms, family workshops, and ultimately shared online (once permissions are granted) to help children everywhere grow into kind, thoughtful, and compassionate people.
Your time and talent will have a ripple effect—not just helping us tell stories, but helping us raise a kinder generation.
We’re excited and ready! This project is part of our new Children’s Empathy Library, and we’ve already chosen the books and started getting publisher permission. We’ll provide the page scans, script, and any visuals you need.
This video will help set the tone for our youth intern (supported by a grant) and give us a polished example to use in future storytelling projects. Once we have permission, we plan to share the video more widely to support kindness and literacy.
You’ll be working directly with me (Julie, the founder), and I’ll make sure everything is clear, organized, and collaborative. We truly appreciate the time and skill volunteers bring — and we’re excited to work together on something that helps kids and animals alike!
