Communications Plan

Our nonprofit needs support crafting our first communications plan. It will guide how we engage key audiences—supporters, partners, media, and community members—through consistent messaging across channels like social media, email, public relations, and events. The plan will outline core messages, communication goals, target audiences, and recommended tactics, helping us prioritize efforts and maximize reach. It will also provide tools for our part-time communications manager to implement a cohesive and effective strategy, and measure the results of our outreach. Ultimately, the plan will help us build deeper community connections, raise visibility, and inspire greater support for our mission.

The communications plan should take into account our current marketing tools and staff availability.

This project should take from 12-24 hours to complete. We're hopeful that our volunteer partner will share 2-5 hours of their time per week.

By helping us craft a thoughtful communications plan, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our connection with supporters, increasing awareness of our mission, and amplifying the stories of change happening across Colorado’s Front Range. This is a unique opportunity to use your skills for good—building strategy, inspiring action, and driving community engagement through the power of thoughtful messaging.

To support the development of our communications plan, we will provide a clear starting point by sharing our existing social media, email, and PR strategies. This foundational information will offer insight into our current tactics and audience engagement. We’re also fortunate to have a part-time communications manager in place—someone who is passionate about our organization and eager to develop their communications planning skills.
