Our nonprofit is searching for a grant writer or talented copywriter to assist our team in reviewing a grant proposal and making updates.

To implement this grant writing project, we'll need two meetings with a volunteer. In our first meeting, we will provide you with a copy and review the application draft with you. We'll align on expectations and agree on the project timeline. Next, you'll review our document using the track changes function checking for inconsistencies and continuity errors, and creates a list of recommended changes to share with us. The project will conclude after up to two rounds of edits which the volunteer will make the agreed-upon changes to the document.
Washington Square Academy (WSA)
Washington Square Academy is a 5013c nonprofit school in Newton, Massachusetts, dedicated to unlocking the potential of gifted and talented immigrant students—young people too often overlooked by traditional systems.

At WSA, education goes beyond academics. We offer rigorous honors and AP coursework, but equally prioritize social-emotional learning, communication skills, leadership development, and community engagement. For students who face food insecurity, we provide homemade meals each day, ensuring they are cared for in both body and mind.

Looking ahead, WSA is working to create a space that empowers immigrant students and families not only through education, but also through opportunities to grow, lead, and thrive as part of a supportive community.

To sustain this mission, WSA blends tuition-paying families with scholarship support so that talented students from immigrant and underserved backgrounds can access the opportunities they deserve. By partnering with families, volunteers, and supporters, we are building a sustainable model that uplifts both students and their communities.

✨ At WSA, overlooked potential becomes innovation, leadership, and change.
We have a dedicated team member for the project who will provide you with the document that needs to be reviewed in an easily shareable format. (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.) We'll also send you the proposal and application guidelines.

Organization Mission

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to supporting underserved communities and the children of immigrants, ensuring that transformative learning is accessible to those who need it most. We combine rigorous academics with regular field trips into the rich landscape that is Boston. Our students tour world-class museums and universities; learn about the natural world at farm school and at our annual retreat on Cape Cod; and even travel internationally during summer breaks. The result is quantifiable academic success on the part of happy, well-rounded students.
