I'm seeking a volunteer who would be willing to offer their guidance to help me refine and move forward with a website for a nonprofit children's crisis center. I already have a domain secured and a draft layout started, but i would truly benefit from experienced insight on:
-website structure and development
-enabling and optimizing online donations
-recommendations for tools, platforms and or next steps.
My immediate need is direction and clarity on how to build this well and sustainably. If needed the opportunity for longer-term collaboration, I would welcome that conversation, though there is no expectation beyond the initial session.
This work is deeply meaningful to me, and any guidance you could offer would help turn my vision into something tangible and accessible for the community we serve.
Thank you for considering this request, and for the work you already do to share your gifts with others. Even a small window of you time could make a lasting difference.
Waymaker Haven for Children's mission is to give children the opportunity to grow and develop in a safe, comfortable, and nurturing home-like environment during family crisis, or when parents are facing personal challenges.
Our website is more than a digital presence. It is the front door to that safe haven.
When families are in crisis, clarity matters. Speed matters. Trust matters.
This website will help parents quickly find support during moments of fear, exhaustion, or overwhelm.
It will increase visibility so families know help exists so that they can maintain custody of their children and get the help they need. Provide hope.
It will enable online donations to sustain care and services as well as show donors how their generosity directly protects children.
it will build credibility that opens doors to grants, partnerships, and long-term impact.
It will provide community agencies and referral partners a clear path to collaboration.
The website will tell the story of children who need stability and families who need hope.
A well designed site allows us to move from explaining our mission to living it.
I would be a strong pro bono partner for this project because much of the groundwork is already complete. I have researched in depth what needs to be included on the website and have written the primary navigation tabs and page content. I also have curated photographs ready for upload and use throughout the site.
Over the past year and a half, I have personally invested significant time and care into developing the crisis center's foundation creating comprehensive policies, procedures, forms and checklists required for operations, compliance, and best practices. This project isn't theoretical for me; it's deeply personal and already well underway.
I'm seeking a collaborative partner who can help translate all of this work into a functional welcoming website. One that reflects the heart of the mission while supporting donations, community engagement, and long-term growth. I bring clarity, preparation, and commitment to the table and maybe a slightly obsessive love of organization.
