The Stewpot is seeking a volunteer to design and document a combined digital and physical inventory system for perishable food donations stored across three industrial freezers. The volunteer will propose a user-friendly tracking tool (a customized spreadsheet or lightweight database), a standardized labeling/rotation protocol, and a short staff guide to ensure the system is maintained consistently.
A reliable inventory system will reduce food waste, improve food safety, and speed distribution to our neighbors experiencing hunger and homelessness. Volunteers’ work will help safeguard donations.
Details will be provided during volunteer interviews. We will share current workflows and freezer layout as needed and collaborate with the volunteer to pilot and refine the system so staff can adopt it smoothly.
