About the Opportunity

Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. has developed Skill BuildHER™, a ready-to-activate professional development and workforce development program that connects girls and young women with professionals for hands-on career readiness experiences. We are now looking to scale the program by expanding our reach to companies, corporate social responsibility (CSR) teams, employee resource groups (ERGs), and professionals who are looking for meaningful ways to engage their employees in supporting young people.

We have a strong program model, established curriculum and handbooks, experience working with schools and youth-serving organizations, and a growing network of professionals and companies across industries. The opportunity is to turn this strong program into a more defined and repeatable sales strategy.

As a growing nonprofit with limited sales capacity, we need the expertise of a professional who understands nonprofit sales, B2B sales, corporate partnerships, CSR, employee engagement, or social impact. We need help clearly articulating the value of Skill BuildHER to companies: why they should activate their employees, what problem the program solves for them, what they receive, and why Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. is the right organization to deliver it.

We would also like an expert review of our current sales deck and messaging to ensure that our materials are compelling, easy to understand, and designed to move a prospective company from interest to action.

Our goal is to develop a sales approach that our team can realistically use and repeat as we expand Skill BuildHER nationally.

By the end of the project, we want a clear, practical sales strategy for positioning and selling Skill BuildHER™ to companies, CSR and social impact teams, ERGs, and professionals.

The pro bono consultant will review our existing Skill BuildHER materials, sales deck, program information, and current corporate messaging and provide recommendations for strengthening our sales approach.

Key deliverables would ideally include:

• A clear sales and positioning strategy for Skill BuildHER
• Refinement of our core sales messaging and value proposition for companies
• Review and recommendations for our existing sales deck, including what should be added, removed, or repositioned
• Recommended language for explaining the corporate value of employee activation and community impact
• Guidance on how to package and communicate our program offerings and investment levels
• A simple sales process or framework outlining how to move prospects from initial outreach to conversation, proposal, and commitment
• Recommended sales outreach messaging for prospective companies and CSR/social impact contacts
• Identification of key decision-makers and buyer audiences within companies
• Guidance on how to differentiate Skill BuildHER from traditional career days, volunteer events, or one-time employee volunteer opportunities

Success would mean that Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. has a clear and compelling way to sell Skill BuildHER, stronger sales materials, and a repeatable process our small team can use to approach companies with confidence.

Ultimately, we want to make it easy for a company to understand: What is Skill BuildHER? Why does it matter? What does my company get? How can I activate my employees? And what is the next step?

Organization Mission

Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. equips girls and young women ages 14–21 with the skills, professional connections, and real-world experiences they need to pursue college, careers, and economic opportunity. Our work centers on Skill BuildHER™ Professional Development Labs, a suite of ready-to-activate workforce development experiences designed to give girls direct access to professionals, industries, and career-connected learning. Labs include Professional Networking, Financial Literacy, College Readiness, and Mock Interview experiences. Rather than simply exposing students to careers, Skill BuildHER creates opportunities for girls to practice professional skills, build social capital, ask questions, develop relationships, and see themselves in professional spaces. We bring together girls, schools, companies, and professionals to create meaningful career-connected experiences. We work with schools and youth-serving organizations, particularly those serving students from communities that are often underrepresented in professional spaces, while engaging professionals from companies and organizations across industries. Our corporate model allows companies, employee resource groups (ERGs), professional networks, and social impact teams to activate their employees and industry expertise in experiences that directly benefit young people. Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. serves as the connector between these groups. We handle the planning, coordination, materials, facilitation, school or youth-organization matching, and student experience so that professionals can focus on what they do best: showing up, sharing their expertise, mentoring, and opening doors. Companies can bring their employees, expertise, and industry knowledge into the experience while putting their corporate values and community commitments into action. Our professional network includes individuals from Fortune 100–1,000 companies and a range of industries, giving girls opportunities to interact with people whose careers, experiences, and pathways may otherwise be outside their immediate networks. Through these relationships, we help expand not only what girls know, but who they know and what they believe is possible for their futures. What began in New Jersey is now expanding across the United States. Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. is building a national network of schools, companies, and professionals committed to increasing girls' access to professional skills, social capital, and career opportunity.
