The United Nations had largely failed in its noble mission. The Earth Constitution Institute is therefore committed to a future in which the most important global decisions are made by humanity together, democratically, in a world parliament; a world without war, where conflicts are resolved peacefully in world courts; and a planet where the freedom and the inherent human rights of all are guaranteed by a global bill of rights. To make this vision a reality, we work to ratify the Earth Constitution, which honors national boundaries but invites all countries to join together as part of one global democratic federation. As Einstein said decades ago, only with a world government can human civilization, and indeed the human race itself, hope to survive the challenges we face. Time is short, and the need is great. That’s why the World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA) and ECI have been working for this cause for the past 60 years.
