Advice on Navigating LA County & Government Funding

We are a small but growing nonprofit that operates two shelter programs for unhoused pregnant women in Los Angeles. We are seeking advice from a volunteer (or multiple) with experience in LA County contracting or public funding to help us better understand and pursue government funding opportunities, especially those related to housing, maternal/infant health, and homelessness.

During this call, we'd like to discuss:
-Appropriate LA County and/or First 5 LA funding opportunities
-Understand key agencies and departments to build relationships with
-Advise on registering as a vendor and responding to RFPs
-Provide light guidance on how to “speak the language” of government proposals
-Share best practices from other small organizations successfully contracting with public agencies
