Rhino Conservation Partners (RCP), formerly PARCA, is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016 to support efforts to prevent the extinction of the rhinoceros.Over the past decade, we have built strong conservation partnerships in Africa and raised funds for rhino monitoring, anti-poaching efforts, ranger and K9 programs, and the care and rehabilitation of orphaned rhinos. We also engage supporters through conservation travel, events, social media, and fundraising activities. RCP has grown almost entirely through people we know — friends, family, personal networks, event attendees, and travelers who have become connected to our mission. We believe there is a significant opportunity to broaden our reach beyond that existing network and attract new donors, conservation travelers, event participants, sponsors, and other supporters. However, our board does not currently have deep expertise in marketing, audience development, or supporter engagement.
We are looking for a pro bono marketing or engagement professional to help us develop a practical strategy for how we reach new audiences while also strengthening relationships with the supporters we already have.We have begun organizing our thinking around five stages:Welcome / OnboardingAcquisition / ReachCultivation / EngagementAppeal / ConversionRetention / StewardshipWe would like help evaluating what we do today, identifying gaps and opportunities, and creating a simple framework that an all-volunteer organization can realistically execute. We envision the volunteer helping us: - Identify and prioritize key audiences we should be trying to reach - Assess how we currently engage supporters and where there are gaps - Recommend strategies for reaching people outside our existing networks - Develop an approach for nurturing people from initial awareness to deeper engagement - Recommend communication channels, cadence, segmentation, and opportunities for automation - Help us prioritize the highest-impact activities for a small volunteer organizationThe most valuable contribution would be helping us move from an organization that has grown primarily through personal relationships to one that can intentionally and sustainably reach a much broader community of people who care about rhino conservation.
