Google rejected our application to add equityonfire.org to our Google Ad Grants account. Their stated reasons, and what we've confirmed on our own review, are:Thin/placeholder content: Our site has at least one unfinished page and several blog posts still carrying default template titles (e.g., "Blog Post Title One") rather than real content. Google's policy specifically flags placeholder and thin-content pages.Missing use-of-funds messaging: Google's letter says we don't explain how our limited commercial/fundraising activity ties to our mission or how donated funds are used. We currently have no dedicated language on this anywhere on the site.Low-quality images: Every image on our site is generic stock photography (Unsplash), not original photos of our actual work, staff, hotline, or case outcomes. Google flagged this as low quality. We need a consultant to help us close these specific gaps so we can resubmit the domain to Google and get it approved, and to leave us with a general site content standard we can maintain going forward.
A short content audit against Google's Ad Grants website policy, confirming which pages are compliant and which need work.Finished copy (or a clear recommendation to remove/unpublish) for the placeholder blog posts and unfinished page currently live on the site.Drafted "how your donation is used" messaging, sized for a homepage section or a short standalone page.A practical plan for replacing key stock photos (homepage, About page) with authentic images — sourcing guidance and placement recommendations we can execute with photos we already have or can gather.A short compliance-readiness memo we can reference when we resubmit the domain to Google and reply to their reviewer.

Equity on Fire (EOF) is Equity on Fire is a non-profit organization that originated in southern California. We are a volunteer organization. Our goal is to advocate for accountability and end the historically skewed professional archetype of the role of firefighters to be more inclusive of all races, genders, and sexualities. EOF is dedicated to promoting fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all firefighters, regardless of race, gender, or background within the national fire service.
