American Music Institute (AMI) is seeking support to identify and resolve ongoing email deliverability issues. Some of our emails, including emails sent through Mailjet, are being delivered to recipients’ Spam/Junk folders instead of their inboxes, which can prevent important communications from reaching students, parents, volunteers, and supporters. We need an experienced volunteer to help us determine the root cause of the problem and identify any technical, authentication, configuration, or sender-reputation issues affecting our email delivery. We have already begun investigating the issue, but we need additional technical expertise to conduct a comprehensive review of our DNS records, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, sender reputation, and overall email deliverability practices. The main challenge is determining exactly what is causing the poor inbox placement and implementing the appropriate fixes so AMI can establish reliable, long-term email deliverability.
By the end of the project, AMI would like to have a comprehensive email deliverability audit, a clear diagnosis of the issues, and an actionable plan to improve inbox placement. The pro bono consultant will:Conduct an audit of AMI’s current email deliverability and Mailjet configuration.Review SPF, DKIM, DMARC, DNS records, and domain authentication.Analyze available email performance data, including bounces, spam complaints, and engagement.Review email headers and identify potential technical or configuration issues.Identify the primary reasons emails are being delivered to Spam/Junk folders.Provide specific recommendations and, where possible, assist with implementing the necessary fixes.Create a prioritized action plan for improving and maintaining email deliverability.Provide documentation explaining the recommended configuration and best practices for AMI’s team.AMI will have a clear understanding of why emails are not consistently reaching inboxes, the major technical issues will be addressed, and our domain setup will follow email deliverability best practices. The final deliverable should give AMI a practical roadmap and sustainable process for maintaining strong email deliverability and improving inbox placement over time.
