A prioritized list of potential grant opportunities and funders tailored to Riyah's House, listing the top opportunities and clear next steps for submission.Securing grant funding will help Riyah's House expand compassionate, trauma-informed support and restorative programs for bereaved mothers and women in transition. Volunteer work will directly increase our capacity to create safe healing spaces and sustain services for community members.
Riyah’s House is seeking a skilled volunteer consultant to research and qualify approximately 20–25 funding prospects that align with our mission of supporting bereaved mothers and families experiencing pregnancy, infant, or early-childhood loss. The research should focus on:* Michigan-based and national private foundations* Community foundations serving Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan* Corporate giving programs and hospital or healthcare foundations* Funders supporting maternal health, pregnancy and infant loss, grief support, mental and emotional wellness, women and families, faith-based services, and health equity* Grant opportunities open to small, emerging nonprofit organizations* Funders that do not require applicants to submit IRS Form 990 documents as part of the eligibility, application, or due-diligence processOur primary funding priorities are program support for the Healing Circle grief-support program, bereavement aftercare packages, and distribution of *It Is Well with My Soul: A Bereaved Mother’s Guide to Healing* to mothers who may not otherwise be able to afford it. We are also interested in limited general operating support that would help Riyah’s House deliver and expand these services. For each prospect, the consultant will research and document:* Funder name and website* Geographic area served* Funding priorities and populations supported* Typical grant amount or giving range* Types of support offered, such as program, general operating, sponsorship, or in-kind support* Confirmation that IRS Form 990 documents are not required from applicants* Other required financial or organizational documents* Eligibility requirements* Application process, deadlines, and funding cycle* Contact information, when publicly available* Relevant grants previously awarded, including recipients and award amounts when available* Alignment with Riyah’s House’s mission and current funding needs
Details will be provided. Our team will collaborate with the volunteer, share organizational background and program priorities, and participate in regular check-ins to review and finalize the research. Also, Potential concerns, limitations, or barriers to eligibilityA brief explanation of why Riyah’s House appears to be a strong, moderate, or developing prospectRecommended next step for cultivation or applicationThe final deliverable will be a prioritized prospect-research spreadsheet containing approximately 20–25 thoroughly evaluated funders. All included prospects must be reasonably accessible to an emerging nonprofit and must not require the submission of IRS Form 990 documents.Prospects should be organized by alignment and readiness so Riyah’s House can distinguish between immediate application opportunities, funders requiring relationship-building, and longer-term prospects. The consultant will also provide a brief summary identifying the five to ten strongest opportunities and recommending where Riyah’s House should focus its initial grant-seeking efforts. The goal is to receive a carefully researched, realistic, and actionable funding pipeline—not simply a broad directory of available grants.
