The Arc of California needs to diversify its revenue streams to strengthen its long-term financial sustainability. Historically, the organization has relied primarily on chapter dues and institutional grants, and recent changes in grant funding have reinforced the need to develop a more diversified and resilient revenue model. The organization's Board of Directors recently established a Resource Development Task Force to lead this effort. We are seeking an experienced volunteer with nonprofit fundraising, business development, or revenue diversification expertise to help us assess our current revenue model and development capacity, identify the most promising opportunities for diversification, and help launch the Task Force's strategic planning process.
1) An assessment of The Arc of California's current revenue model and development capacity, including strengths, vulnerabilities, existing assets and potential gaps.2) A prioritized set of revenue diversification opportunities, with rationale and preliminary feasibility considerations. Opportunities may include institutional philanthropy, individual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships and sponsorships, earned revenue, and other mission-aligned funding strategies.3) Facilitation of a 90-minute Resource Development Task Force kickoff meeting in October 2026, either virtually or in person, to review findings, engage Task Force members in strategic discussion, and establish initial revenue development priorities.4) A summary of findings, Task Force discussion and recommended priorities that can serve as the foundation for the organization's next phase of resource development planning. The volunteer will participate in approximately two preparation meetings with key staff/leadership, review relevant organizational and financial materials, and facilitate the 90-minute Task Force kickoff meeting.Estimated project period: September–October 2026.
