SEO Audit and Search Optimization Strategy for American Music Institute
During this project, we hope the volunteer can:
- Conduct a technical SEO audit to identify issues affecting search performance, such as crawlability, indexing, site speed, mobile usability, broken links, duplicate content, metadata, and Core Web Vitals.
- Review our website's on-page SEO, including page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, internal linking, image optimization, and keyword usage.
- Evaluate our current content strategy and identify opportunities to improve existing pages and blog posts for search intent and user engagement.
- Research relevant keywords for our core programs, including private music lessons, summer music camps, youth chamber orchestra, music competitions, and live music services.
- Analyze competitor websites to identify content gaps and opportunities that could help AMI improve its search rankings.
- Review our local SEO presence and provide recommendations to strengthen our visibility in local search results for the communities we serve.
- Prioritize recommendations based on potential impact and implementation effort so our team can focus on the most valuable improvements first.
- Provide a practical roadmap outlining short-term, medium-term, and long-term SEO priorities.
At the conclusion of the project, we hope to receive a written SEO audit with clear findings, prioritized recommendations, and an actionable implementation plan that our marketing team can execute. While we do not expect the volunteer to implement technical changes, we would appreciate guidance on best practices and recommendations for ongoing SEO improvements.
This project will help AMI reach more students and families searching online for high-quality music education, ultimately supporting our mission of making exceptional music instruction accessible to more members of our community.
Today, many families begin their search for music education online. If they can't find us, they may never discover the opportunities that could change a student's life. That's why this SEO project is so important.
By helping us improve our website's visibility in search engines, you'll make it easier for parents, students, educators, and community members to find our programs and resources. Your expertise will help connect more young musicians with high-quality instruction, performance opportunities, scholarships, and enriching musical experiences that can shape their futures.
The impact of this project extends beyond website traffic. Stronger online visibility means more students enrolling in lessons, more participation in our youth ensembles and camps, greater awareness of our nonprofit mission, and increased opportunities to serve families throughout the Chicago area. It also strengthens our long-term sustainability by helping us reach new supporters and community partners.
As a volunteer, you'll leave behind more than an SEO audit—you'll provide a roadmap that helps our organization grow for years to come. Your skills will directly support our mission of expanding access to exceptional music education and creating opportunities for more young people to discover the joy, confidence, and lifelong benefits that come from making music.
Your contribution will have a lasting impact, helping us reach more families, inspire more students, and strengthen the communities we serve through the power of music.
We have already gathered the resources needed for the project, including access to our website, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and our existing website content. We can also provide information about our programs, target audiences, and current marketing efforts to give the volunteer a complete understanding of our organization and goals.
Throughout the project, we will designate a primary point of contact who can answer questions promptly, provide requested information, and schedule regular check-ins to review progress and feedback. We are committed to maintaining clear communication and responding quickly to any requests so the volunteer can work efficiently.
Once the project is complete, our marketing team will review the recommendations and prioritize implementation based on the volunteer's findings. We plan to update website content, improve technical SEO where feasible, optimize metadata, strengthen our local SEO strategy, and incorporate the recommended keywords into future content. We will also use the audit as a roadmap for ongoing website improvements and content planning.
By combining the volunteer's expertise with our team's commitment to implementation, we expect this project to have a lasting impact on our ability to connect with more students, families, and community members through organic search.
