Friends of Angaza Nuru partners with the families of Bodoi, Kenya, to promote education, address food insecurity, and build relationships while illuminating the path with Christian love. Since 2012, Angaza Nuru has been a ministry of hope in a forgotten village in Bodoi Kenya. Prior to Angaza Nuru, young children would walk miles to their school with their siblings, crossing over fast streams of water to get an education, and few children were even enrolled in school. Many children didn’t know when they would receive their next meal due to low employment in the village due to its remote location. Over the past 13 years, Friends of Angaza Nuru have funded a weekly food and activity program that feeds up to 400 children each Saturday, and founded the Angaza Nuru School that employs four teachers and one administrator. We also funded building a chicken farm which provides income and eggs for the village. Friends of Angaza Nuru’s main focus is our scholarship program, which since 2012 has worked to ensure that children from Bodoi have access to basic education, funding tuition for children from grades K-12. Our current enrollment in the scholarship program is almost 300 children, whose education is paid for by our generous sponsors. By investing in the education and future of these children, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change in Bodoi.
